This Hermès Violet Ostrich 35 cm Birkin is in excellent condition.
Hermès bags are considered the ultimate luxury item the world over. Hand stitched by skilled craftsmen, wait lists of a year or more are commonplace for the bovine versions. This particular Birkin is in Violet Ostrich skin with Palladium hardware; a rare exotic that is extremely difficult to find and a purple lover’s dream.
Ostrich skin is unmistakable in appearance due to the raised bumps from the quill follicles of the ostrich. Considered one of the strongest commercial leathers, it ages well and may be wiped down after exposure to rain, if necessary. This luxurious skin requires a very specialized production process making it quite a bit more expensive than the bovine leathers.
The Violet Ostrich on this Birkin is a glorious purple that pairs beautifully with most other colors. Perfectly highlighted with sophisticated Palladium hardware. Double rolled handles are carried in hand or at the elbow. Chevre (goat skin) lining with one side zippered pocket. Blind stamped J within a square. Made in France.
